As of January 1, 2025, Thailand has transitioned to a completely online visa issuance system. A significant difference is that you no longer need to wait in line to submit documents at the embassy, and your visa will no longer be affixed to your passport — it will be sent via email. The most important rule: you CANNOT apply for a visa online while in Thailand. You must apply in the country where you are physically located.
Since switching to the online system, there have been both advantages and disadvantages. For example, you no longer need to stand in huge lines for hours at the embassy under the scorching sun in Laos. However, there is no longer a fixed date and time for visa issuance; visas are emailed to you at any time of day or night. Minivans will depart for the return trip only after the group has received their visas online.
Note:
In the event of any circumstances, you are responsible for all additional expenses. The tour schedule and program are subject to unilateral adjustments by the organizers. We organize comfortable group travel and facilitate the visa application process, but we are not responsible if the embassy rejects your application or does not approve your visa for any reason. Your passport must be valid for at least six months and contain at least three blank pages. Border crossing with an old passport and obtaining a visa in a new one is only possible for an additional fee. We recommend that you cancel any non-immigrant visas with the immigration service before your trip.
